My users are members — how do I charge them?

Decide whether to bill by booking, by month, or with a recurring membership fee.

Three common patterns

  1. Pay-as-you-go — every booking is invoiced at your hourly rate.
  2. Monthly billing — bookings accumulate through the month, then one invoice covers the lot.
  3. Membership — members pay a monthly fee that includes a set number of hours; overflow billed at an hourly rate.

Pay-as-you-go

Best for casual users who book infrequently. Each booking generates a line item; you can take payment at booking (via Stripe) or send a single per-session invoice. Simple but lots of small invoices.

Monthly billing

Best for tenured members who book often. All their bookings consolidate into one monthly invoice. Use Settings → Monthly billing to generate and send. Members get fewer invoices, and you get a single payment per member per month.

Memberships and packages

Best when you want predictable revenue. Build a tier in Settings → Memberships & packages (e.g. $400/month for 8 hours included), assign it to the member, and their monthly invoice automatically charges the membership fee plus any overflow hours. The bundle resets each month.

Mix and match

Most workspaces use a mix — pay-as-you-go for casuals, monthly billing for residents, memberships for the most active. You can switch a single member between modes at any time from their profile.
