What is tiered pricing?

A pricing model where the hourly rate changes based on how long the booking is.

The idea

Tiered pricing charges different hourly rates depending on the length of the booking. Short bookings often pay a higher rate per hour; long bookings get a per-hour discount. It's a clean way to reward members for booking longer blocks without setting up half-day or full-day flat fees.

A worked example

  1. Tier 1 — 0 to 2 hours: $100/hr.
  2. Tier 2 — 2 to 4 hours: $90/hr.
  3. Tier 3 — 4+ hours: $80/hr.
  4. A 3-hour booking is charged at $90/hr × 3 = $270.
  5. An 8-hour booking is charged at $80/hr × 8 = $640.

When to use it

Tiered pricing works well when you want to encourage members to book longer sessions, fill quiet times, or compete on price for half-day and full-day blocks without committing to a flat-fee model.
